ITI – Students
I started the GNU/Linux Awareness Program with help of Mr.Balaji and his team from Bangalore at 10.00 AM in ITI – Kolar Gold Fields.
About 35 to 40 students with two lectures participated in this program.
Topics covered covered are as below :
1. Introduction on FSF
2. About free softwares & its benefits.
3. Role of GNU.
4. Difference between Free softwares & Proprietary software.
5. why we want to use free software rather than using a proprietary software?
Then we install Ubuntu 8.04 & Linux Mint – 4.0 in four systems and gave hands on training using our laptops to all the students who participated in the program.

Group Disscusion among the students
Finally had a group discussion to form a GNU/Linux User group and finish the program at 12.30 pm.
My sincere thanks to Balaji & his team from Bangalore & ILUGC – Chennai for helping me to conduct this program with great success.
