first update

$sudo apt-get update

then install nfs-kernel-server nfs-common portmap

$sudo aptitude install nfs-kernel-server nfs-common portmap

that’s it.

have have installed ubuntu 9.10 server but when i tried this

apt-get install nfs-kernel-server

sudo apt-get install nfs-kernel-server

i get error like this

reading package lists … done
building dependency tree
reading state information .. done
couldnt’ find package nfs-kernel-server

plz help how can i install nfs-kernel-server

i dont know man, since i have upgraded my to 9.10 i get same thing, i dont know why. looks like its an official bug, no solution yet for it. =(

when i try to play a youtube video with the movie player i get the message, “GStreamer encountered a general supporting library error.” i have ubuntu 9.04. what am i missing?!?

Thanks, but this is just another way to fear people off Linux/Ubuntu.

All of this can be so easily achieved through the ‘Ubuntu Software Centre’. Why direct newbies to the command line?

I would suggest(with working internet connection):

Go to Applications>Ubuntu Software Centre

Install ‘Advanced Desktop Effects Settings’ & ‘NVidia binary X.Org driver (‘version 185′ driver)’

Restart.

Go to System>Preferences>Appearance
On the Visual Effects tab, select ‘Normal’ or ‘Extra’

That’s it.

i already install compiz in my computer and already got the bar but the problems is icannot used it can u plz help me
